Robert T. Spector, M. D. is a Yale surgeon with advanced fellowship training in refractive surgery and neuro-ophthalmology. After completing his medical degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Spector obtained his fellowship at the prestigious University of Miami Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. He has served as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia School Of Medicine, Einstein College of Medicine, Yeshiva University, New York, and the University of Iowa Hospitals. He is currently attending surgeon at Yale.Dr. Spector devised the computer program which has become the standard of care for laser surgeons to map the shape of the cornea before and after refractive procedures. In recognition of his innovation, he was awarded four patents on this technology. He has been a refractive surgeon since 1983 and has performed over 25,000 ophthalmic procedures.Dr. Spector is Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and The American College of Eye Surgeons. He is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Surgeons, American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the International Society of Refractive Keratoplasty.
